Biography
Dr. med. Myrjam-Alice Twyla Müller is a specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics with a focus on Integrative Medicine. Since 2018 she has been Senior Physician at the Institute for Complementary and Integrative Medicine at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ). Since 2023 she has also headed the Outpatient Clinic at USZ and is responsible for the field of Chinese Medicine. She speaks German, English and Spanish.
Her medical career began in 2003 in Surgery at the Rorschach site of the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen. She subsequently held positions at St. Vinzenz Hospital in Cologne, at the Essen-Mitte Clinics in the Knappschaft Hospital in the Department of Internal Medicine, Naturopathy and Integrative Medicine, and at the AGAPLESION Markus Hospital Frankfurt, where she led the naturopathic consultation for Integrative Gynaecology in the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
Dr. Müller studied Human Medicine at the Universities of Halle, Valencia and Essen, obtaining her medical licence in 2004. In 2007 she earned her doctorate at the University of Essen with a thesis on lifestyle modifications in patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease. She completed her specialist examination in Gynaecology and Obstetrics in 2012.
Alongside her clinical work, she is committed to medical education and has obtained numerous additional qualifications in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, naturopathy and neural therapy. Dr. Müller is also a member of several professional societies, including the IMed Commission (Integrative Medicine in Oncology), the Working Group for Gynaecological Oncology (AGO), the German Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGGG), the German Cancer Society (DKG), and the German Society for Acupuncture and Neural Therapy (DGfAN). She has also published numerous articles in various specialist journals in recent years.
