Fat transfer breast augmentation (lipofilling)

Fat transfer breast augmentation, known as lipofilling, is a particularly gentle procedure that achieves natural results while also shaping the body's silhouette. The method usually requires several sessions in surgery to achieve the target volume. The major advantage of this type of breast augmentation using your own fat is that no foreign material is introduced to the body. However, lipofilling of the breast is only suitable when the breast is to be enlarged only moderately. Fat transfer breast augmentation – tailored to your individual wishes. Gentle techniques ensure aesthetically pleasing results.

About the treatment

Fat transfer breast augmentation, also known as lipofilling, is a gentle and natural method for moderately increasing breast volume – without the use of any foreign materials.

How does fat transfer breast augmentation (lipofilling) work?

In the fat transfer breast augmentation method, the body's own fat is removed from certain areas of the body (e.g. abdomen, hips or thighs – depending on your wishes) by means of liposuction, before being specially processes and injected into the breast with precision. As an added benefit, the body silhouette is harmoniously reshaped at the donor sites.

Since not all of the transplanted fat grows permanently, several treatments are usually necessary to achieve the desired result.

This method is ideal if you want natural, moderate breast augmentation and you do not want silicone implants.

To promote the growth of fat cells and optimise long-term results, we offer complementary therapies – for example, to improve blood circulation and tissue quality.

“We set the highest standards for breast reconstruction and develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. This is the only way to achieve the best possible result and the highest possible quality of life.”

Treatment stages for fat transfer breast augmentation (lipofilling)
1
Before treatment
Checks are undertaken to establish whether there is sufficient fatty tissue available for removal. You will be given all the important information about the stages of the treatment, any possible risks and your aftercare.
2
During the operation
Firstly, fat is removed from those areas of the body agreed at the consultation (e.g. abdomen, hips, thighs) by means of small incisions and gentle liposuction. The fat is specially processed and then injected into the breast with precision. The areas from where the fat is removed are harmoniously sculpted for additional body shaping.
3
After the operation
During the first few days, swelling, bruising or a slight feeling of tightness may occur, both in the breast and at the donor sites. Compression garments should be worn for 6 weeks. As some of the transplanted fat does not grow permanently, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment.
4
Possible risks and complications
In rare cases, infections, hardening, small oil accumulations (oil cysts) or small indentations may occur in the breast.
FAQs

FAQs

Are the scars visible?

Fat transfer breast augmentation involves only tiny incisions in the skin, through which fine cannulas are inserted. The scars are therefore barely visible and usually fade to become very discreet.

Is liposuction permanent?

Yes, the removed fat cells are permanently eliminated and cannot reform. However, remaining fat cells can enlarge in the event of significant weight gain. The result is therefore permanent – provided that your weight remains largely stable.

What happens to my breasts if I lose weight?

Since the volume in a fat transfer breast augmentation consists of the body's own fat cells, significant weight loss can also lead to a loss of volume in the breast. The transplanted fat behaves like normal fatty tissue – it can shrink when weight is lost and increase in volume when weight is gained. Minor weight fluctuations usually have little visible effect.

How long do I have to wear the compression garments?

After liposuction as part of fat transfer breast augmentation, you should wear compression garments for about 6 weeks. This aids healing, reduces swelling and helps to achieve an even result at the donor sites. We will discuss the specific schedule for wearing the garments on a case-by-case basis.
