What is hyaluronic acid?

Treatment stages

Before treatment
We will meet in advance for an in-depth consultation and to carefully plan the treatment stages. Upon request, an anaesthetic cream can be applied before treatment to increase comfort.

During treatment
The hyaluronic acid is injected into the desired areas using a fine needle or blunt cannula. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

After treatment
Slight redness, swelling or bruising may occur. Sporting activities, saunas and heat should be avoided for 24 hours.

Possible risks and complications
Side effects occasionally include swelling, redness or small haematomas at the treated sites. These reactions are usually harmless, temporary and easily treatable.

Is the treatment painful? 

The treatment is not generally considered painful. Many preparations contain a mild anaesthetic. A local anaesthetic can also be administered upon request.  

What do I need to bear in mind after the treatment? 

Refrain from sports, saunas and intense heat for 24 hours after treatment. Direct pressure on the treated area (e.g. while sleeping) should be avoided.  

Can the treatment still be administered in the summer? 

Yes, hyaluronic acid injections are generally possible during the summer months. However, it is recommended to avoid direct sunlight in the first few days after treatment and to use a high sun protection factor to give the skin the best possible protection.  

Can hyaluronic acid be removed again? 

Yes. If necessary, the injected gel can be dissolved in a targeted manner using the enzyme hyaluronidase.
