What is medical pigmentation?
Medical pigmentation is a non-invasive procedure in which colour pigments are applied to the top layer of skin using a fine needle. It is used not only for aesthetic purposes, but also in reconstructive treatments – for example, to restore the appearance of the nipple after breast surgery or to retouch scars. Our specialist Astrid Keller will address your personal wishes and medical requirements.

FAQs
How long does the pigmentation last and are retouches necessary?
The durability depends on skin type, care and the area being treated. The pigmentation generally remains visible for up to 8 years. A retouch after 1 or 2 years may be advisable, especially for lighter tones.
Are there any factors that complicate treatment?
Yes, factors such as scar condition, skin type and skin colour, medication, radiation treatment or a weakened immune system can complicate or influence medical pigmentation or tattooing.
