Today, the breast can in many cases be reconstructed during the same operation in which it is removed – using either the patient's own tissue or implants. This way, you don't have to wake up feeling like you are missing a breast.

Immediate reconstruction has no negative impact on subsequent cancer treatment or any required chemotherapy – on the contrary: It can significantly improve quality of life and improve emotional well-being.

Alternatively, breast reconstruction can be performed at a later date after the mastectomy. If radiotherapy is required, it is recommended that reconstructive surgery is performed using the patient's own tissue. Using modern microsurgical techniques, we achieve particularly natural results and can significantly minimise any possible impairment at the donor site.
